Stock Video
Most of these videos are of my work with stock video (I’ve been making a few extra bucks this way to pay for equipment and supplies). I am an avid stock shooter and I am represented by several agencies to varying degrees (iStockphoto, Pond5, Revostock, Shutterstock, et al). Most have all the same material (spread the same material around to several sites and you can make money many ways…at least in theory…).
Sculpture Resource Center
Most notable is the combination music video and promotional video for both White Chocolate and the Cigarettes (the band) and the Sculpture Resource Center. The short version is that this was an event organized by Michael Whitby and Sarah Collins for the Sculpture Resource Center as a ticketed fundraising event to include art, much experimental music, and colorful LED throwies. I put together the video shooters (myself, Shawn Gorritz, Lindsey, Al Graham and Andreas Hohl) and the audio recording crew (Jim Waters, Jeff, Peter Gorritz) and basically let them run wild. With such an eclectic bunch, it was pointless to try anything scripted so I told everyone to go for an experimental, rough, gritty look and feel and I would figure it out in the edit. Couple this with the fact that most shooters (except Al and Andy) had little or no professional experience while the audio engineers had loads of professional experience.
The final result is just one video as the people that put me on this event are either out of town now or have moved on to other things. I have a top-notch, CD-quality music set of 4 (yep, four) bands with full sets of experimental music and hours of gorgeous DSLR video footage and loads of photos with no releases and no way to get some of them. This video is all I can show! This is still a work in progress and may be a documentary at some point, but for now it’s a dead-letter project. Oh and they raised tons of money for the SRC so that’s something.
Tucson Indie Film
More recently, I’ve been getting re-involved with the indie film world in Tucson. I had to drop out and come up with some legitimate, paying gigs (specifically, websites, photography and the occasional video). The folks in Tucson were not paying, there were no jobs in the field (well, there are, but they are few and far between and they are heavily contested). Check the “All Video” link in the Video menu above or just click here to see some of what I have done. You can also look at my IMDB page.
The latest…
I’ve been making a few promo videos of late for the Duke and Cat Show. I’m also preparing to develop a new website for the Blazing Edisons, a local Tucson Rock Band. Also, I’m working on 2 new web series: Online Video Marketing Tips and Tricks and The History of Special Effects.
